Homework

We will be sending home weekly homework in your child's GREEN folder. Homework activities are meant to be fun activities that are extensions of skills we are working on in class.
This Week's Homework:
Phonemic Awareness- Make the sounds in the following words, then clend together. /f/ /o/ /x/, /h/ /a/ /t/, /p/ /i/ /n/,
/s/ /o/ /k/, /b/ /e/ /d/, /t/ /u/ /g/
Nightly: Read 10-15 minutes
Monday: Write about how you celebrated the new year.
Tuesday: Write your alphabet and say each letter.
Wednesday: Count the socks in your drawer. How many?
Thursday: Use these words in a sentence: snow, hat, winter.
Friday: Please return GREEN folder with completed homework. :) WEAR PURPLE OR GREEN TO SHOW YOUR VIPER SPIRIT!
MATH:
Practice counting objects, make patterns, write numbers from verbal prompt, draw pictures to show a given number, practice building models for addition and subtraction......

READING: Children should read at least 10 minutes each night. When they are ready, they will bring home leveled books from class that are to be practiced and returned in two days. These books reinforce letters/sounds, building and blending words, and our sight words for the week. Please encourage your child to practice these books over and over in order to build their pre-reading and reading skills.
