Daily Snacks  teeter totter:

Each day we have a 15 minute snack time.  The students look forward to this, as they do get hungry toward the end of the day.   It is usually about 2:30pm.

We ask that once a month you send in a snack for the entire class.  Plan for approximately 22 students.  Some idears are: a box of gram crackers, pretzels, cookies, chips, popcorn, crackers, string cheese, muffins, fruit, etc... They will enjoy most anything!

Classroom Birthdays

It is always an exciting time to celebrate a birthday at school!  You are welcome to send in treats if you wish.  They must be store bought treats. Birthdays are celebrated towards the end of the school day.

I would appreciate it if you could let me know the day before if you are planning to provide treats, so I can plan for that time in my lessons.

Other Information

Book Orders book cart:

Each month I will send home a book order.  You are not obligated to order.  We offer it to you as  a convienent and less expensive way to build a home library.   It is also a great motivation for students to develop of love for reading.

Field Trips

In Kindergarten we will take field trips 3 to 4 times throughout the year.  Information will always come home before an event.  We love to have chaperones on field trips.

Share Bag

Periodically your child will be sent home with our "share bag."  Your child may bring ONE object from home (nothing breakable) to share with the class.  This is an enjoyable time for them and they are practicing their listening and speaking skills.  Please NO GUNS, SWORDS, OR WEAPONS!  (this is the only time toys should be brought to school.)

Recipe (cooking) Days  cooking:

About 4 times throughout the year we will have a cooking day.  The recipes coincide with the themes and letters we have been working on.  Recipe day will always be on a Friday.  It takes place the last hour of the day. (2:15pm) If you wish to help out on these days.  Please fill out the volunteer information sheet and turn it in to me.  On your recipe day, you will be responsible for bringing in the ingredients needed for that particular recipe.  It will need to feed approximately 22 students.
